The most advanced solar dataset ever created

3TIER has produced the first solar irradiance map of the entire Western Hemisphere, with roughly three times the resolution of existing U.S. solar maps. The underlying dataset includes hourly values of Global Horizontal Irradiance (GHI), Direct Normal Irradiance (DNI), and Diffuse Irradiance (DI) over a period of 11 years (1997-2007). Our uniform methodology results in a consistent map and dataset, enabling more accurate point-to-point comparisons.

FULLVIEW SITE ANALYSIS REPORTS

Once you’ve identified promising locations, 3TIER can provide an accurate and in-depth assessment, including the intensity and variability of the solar resources at the site. The FullView Site Analysis Report includes average monthly solar irradiance and diurnal variability for GHI, DNI, and DI values, with annual and monthly histograms and color-coded tables of the hourly distribution of these values for easy interpretation. A data file provides the complete hourly time series of GHI, DNI, and DI values from 1997-2007.
