Please complete the form to view recording >>

This webinar discusses our 2011 US Solar Performance Maps and the results of the anomaly study. It focuses on significant deviations from normal, understanding interannual and seasonal solar variability, and the importance of monitoring project performance. Originally recorded October 13, 2011.

Speakers:

Dr. Mark Stoelinga, Senior Scientist
Dr. Stoelinga completed his Ph.D. in Atmospheric Sciences at the University of Washington where he studied a wide range of weather and climate topics and also served as a faculty member. At 3TIER he conducts research to both improve existing techniques and develop new techniques for wind and solar energy assessment and forecasting. His scientific expertise is extensive, but his primary focus is on combining observational and numerical modeling studies to improve our understanding of cloud and precipitation processes, severe weather, air-sea interaction, and mountain-induced weather phenomena.

Gwendalyn Bender, Head of Solar Product Development
Ms. Bender performs market analysis, client outreach, and leverages 3TIER's cutting edge capabilities to develop relevant solar products that help the industry effectively manage project risk. In her 4 years of service, Ms. Bender has been integral in the development of 3TIER's solar offerings and led the effort to create the first ever high-resolution, (3 km) global solar dataset. She has also worked internationally to define best practices for developing large solar projects with the Asian Development Bank, the Clinton Foundation, and Australia's Solar Flagships Program.
