Solar Assessment Best Practices Webinar
Originally broadcast on June 15th, 2011.

Panelists:
Dr. Cameron Potter
Managing Director, 3TIER Pacific Rim Pty Ltd
Benjamin Hall
Mechanical Engineer, Parsons Brinckerhoff Australia Pty Limited
Join industry experts for a special solar assessment webinar discussing the latest techniques for CSP and PV site selection and energy assessment. Co-hosted by 3TIER and Parsons Brinckerhoff, this webinar focuses on ways of reducing the uncertainty of solar energy estimates through the project development process. It also highlights how these techniques perform in the real world through a case study of an actual 150 MW CSP development project.
Proudly supported by the Asia Solar Energy Forum, as part of the Asian Development Bank's Asia Solar Energy Initiative.

Speakers Include:
Dr. Cameron Potter
Managing Director, 3TIER Pacific Rim Pty Ltd
Dr. Potter completed his Ph.D. in Power Systems Engineering and Artificial Intelligence at the University of Tasmania, Australia. At 3TIER he has worked in forecasting, R&D, and managed 3TIER's involvement in the Western Wind and Solar Integration Study, the largest integration study ever conducted. As Managing Director, Dr. Potter continues to serve as a key technical expert and most recently created new algorithms for adjusting solar data to better match on-site observations. His expertise has been recognized by the IEEE, numerous scholarly journals, and frequent invitations to present at industry events.
Benjamin Hall
Mechanical Engineer, Parsons Brinckerhoff Australia Pty Limited
Mr. Hall completed his Bachelor of Engineering at the University of Queensland with 1st Class Honours. Since joining Parsons Brinckerhoff in 2007, he has been involved in a range of projects across conventional thermal and renewable generation technologies, with a focus on solar thermal technologies. Most recently, he played an integral role in feasibility studies for a 150 MW CSP plant, which is one of 3 short-listed solar thermal submissions to the Australian Government's Solar Flagships Program. This study utilized long-term, satellite-derived data and high quality surface data to develop a performance model and ultimately estimate plant production.
