Renewable Energy Scientist

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work with 3TIER's renewable energy forecasting team to develop high-quality products
  • Develop and/or apply statistical models with the aim of improving renewable energy forecasts
  • Work with clients on incorporating feedback in the product development cycle
  • Integration of newly developed software into existing operational software
  • Participate in statistical validation of 3TIER's forecasts

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, or Atmospheric Science
  • Ability to work and self-manage projects in a production environment and meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated experience with modern programming and scripting languages in a UNIX/Linux environment
  • Experience with MySQL or other relational databases
  • Excellent communication skills, fluency in English (both spoken and written)

Further Qualifications:

  • Applied knowledge of time series analysis, artificial intelligence, and decision support systems
  • Experience in data mining and probability statistics
  • Understanding of linear and non-linear statistical models
  • Background in power systems, electric grid operations, energy markets or energy load forecasting

Pay & Work Schedule:
This is a full time position in Seattle, WA with competitive compensation and benefits.
